The Roman Beast is Still Continuing Today

July 26, 2016 by Christine Miller Leave a Comment

From Daniel’s interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream (Dan 2:31-35), we know that the Roman Empire continues on after the Fall of Rome in two parts (the two legs). In fact, the Roman Empire is still continuing today.

The Beasts of Daniel’s Vision Represent Empires

July 26, 2016 by Christine Miller Leave a Comment

Daniel’s vision tells us that the beasts are world-dominating empires. They are a representation of the kingdoms of this world.

“Like the four metals of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, the four beasts rising out of the sea represent the sequence of kingdoms.”

That the Virgin Birth is Declared in the Heavens

July 26, 2016 by Christine Miller 2 Comments

How is it that the woman was clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet? There may be another interpretation of this passage, but I find it fascinating that there is a sign of the virgin woman and her seed in the zodiac.

“As Christians, we believe in a virgin-born Saviour. … It is therefore not a little striking that the very first sign … of the ancient constellations is the form and figure of a virgin. The initiative sign of the Zodiac is called Virgo, the Virgin. All the traditions, names, and mythologies connected with it recognize the virginity of this woman. … But the greater wonder is that motherhood attends this virginity, in the sign the same as in the text …”

The Everlasting Gospel Written in the Stars

July 26, 2016 by Christine Miller Leave a Comment

The constellations were originally taught to Seth by God, according to Josephus, as in them He wrote the everlasting gospel in the stars, which no man
(or devil) could erase or change.

“Now this Seth, when he was brought up … became a virtuous man, and as he was himself of an excellent character, so did he leave children behind him who imitated his virtues. … They also were the inventors of that peculiar sort of wisdom which is concerned with the heavenly bodies, and their order.”

– Josephus, Jewish Antiquities, Bk. 1, Ch. 2. (68), (69), pg. 52.

“With all the obscurity which the ages of apostasy and heathenism have imposed upon [the signs of the constellations], they still shine through, to tell of the faith which put them there, and to declare that very glory of God which received its sublimest expression in the imperishable truths of our Gospel. Even astrology, Sabaism, the abominations of idolatry, and skepticism itself, have been overruled to preserve to us what God had by His Spirit, thus caused to be recorded on the face of the sky from the very beginning of the world.

– Joseph A. Seiss, The Gospel in the Stars, pp. 26, 27.
